About Charter Schools Directory

Our mission is to make the public facts about charter schools easier for families to find and compare. Charter Schools Directory organizes 8,068 schools reported as open in the 2024–25 federal dataset. Every profile presents the same basic fields, including location, grades, enrollment, format, and a link to the official NCES record. Families can make a shortlist without treating any directory score as a verdict.

We do not rank schools or describe a school as the best choice for every student. Where we have confirmed a school or network website or admissions page, we link directly to it. A missing link means we have not verified that destination, not that the school lacks a website. School fit also depends on programs, travel, support, and current admissions rules that a federal snapshot cannot settle.

Listings begin with the National Center for Education Statistics Common Core of Data for the 2024–25 school year, accessed 2026-09-14. We retain source dates, separate verified links from federal fields, and correct records when a reliable source supports a change. Data can lag school closures, grade changes, and enrollment. Confirm any consequential detail with the school or state agency.
